    Fleurey-sur-Ouche - A Champagne Welcome

    Our private driver meets our guests in Paris, Geneva or Dijon at the airport or hotel of your choice at 2:00 pm or Dijon at 4:00 pm. You will then be chauffeured by minivan to the mooring. Upon arrival you will be greeted by our cheerful crew and experience our welcome. While we get you checked in and the crew take your luggage to your stateroom, you’ll have the chance to sit and relax with our signature champagne welcome. Afterwards there will be plenty of time to unpack and unwind before your first of many incredible dinners on board.

    Fleurey-sur-Ouche - Gissey-sur-Ouche - Wine Tasting at Patriarche

    Enjoy a relaxing start to the day as we begin the morning cruise to St. Marie. Guests will have time to relax on deck or enjoy a leisurely bike ride on the bike path as the barge continues the journey into the scenic Valleé de l’Ouche. After lunch, guests will tour the labyrinthine cellars of Patriarche, featuring hundreds of wines in vaults dating to the thirteenth century. The tasting will include eight wines, explained by a sommelier, and a bottle of wine. We return to the barge to enjoy sundowners on the deck or in the bar before dinner aboard. After dinner, enjoy a magnificent tour of Dijon by night before retiring for the evening.

    Gissey-sur-Ouche - la Bussière - Market Day with Lunch in Dijon

    It’s market day in Dijon. Enjoy breakfast aboard, before embarking on a walking tour along the cobblestoned streets of Dijon with a stop at the vibrant fresh market and famous mustard shop. Afterwards we’ll take a break and relax at one of Dijon’s many charming cafes for a café latte or tea, before starting our guided tour of Dijon’s major landmarks. This includes the Ducal Palace, Eglise Notre-Dame and the Cathedral of Saint Benign. Lunch will be enjoyed at a local restaurant in Dijon, after which guests will be free to enjoy Dijon’s abundance of shoppes. Around 3pm we will return in time for a happy hour cruise or bike ride before we dock for the evening with dinner aboard.

    la Bussière - Pont d’Ouche - Vinyl Night

    A relaxing start to the morning with breakfast before embarking our morning cruise through Burgundy. After lunch, we’ll visit a local vineyard for a private tasting, partake in a tour of their vineyards and enjoy a tasting of their wines. We return to the barge in time for a signature sundowner. Freshen up and get ready for our vinyl evening. Kick off your shoes and flick through a diverse selection of vinyl records from then and now. Turn up the volume of your favorite 45’s for us all to enjoy, while the chef adds the final touches to dinner.

    Enjoy an early breakfast before embarking on a visit to the charming town of Beaune, the wine capital of the Cote d’Or. We start with a tour of the famous Hôtel-Dieu, a well maintained medieval hospital that received patients until the late-20th century. A lunch will be enjoyed in this picturesque town. There will be plenty of time to meander the shopping district and enjoy the enchanting café in the town square, before attending a private wine tasting. Guests will return for an late afternoon cruise. Relax with sundowners and dinner aboard.

    Crugey - Vandenesse - Chateauneuf, and Abbaye de la Bussiere

    Delight in a relaxing cruise past the spectacular Chateauneuf-en-Auxois, overlooking the Burgundy Canal. After a lunch, we’ll embark on a tour of the chateau, enjoy the magnificent views of the countryside and a stroll around the quaint village, before we visit the beautifully restored authentic 12th century Cistercian abbey, the Abbaye de la Bussiere. The abbey, is nestled in an immense landscaped park and gardens and is today a fine hotel. Finally we will return to the barge for our traditional happy hour and final dinner aboard.

    Chagny - Chalon-sur-Saône

    Delight in a relaxing cruise into Chalon and marvel at the beautiful Château la Rochepot settled high over the canal. A fortress once belonging to the Knights of the Golden Fleece, in service to the Dukes of Burgundy, the Château is known across France for its magnificent, patterned roof. After a light buffet lunch, we’ll embark on a tour of the 13th century château and enjoy the magnificent views of the countryside and a stroll around the grounds before returning for sundowners aboard the Grand Victoria. After we have enjoyed our cultural excursion, we’ll return to the Grand Victoria for a late afternoon cruise and dinner aboard.

    Chalon-sur-Saône - Tournus

    Enjoy an early breakfast before embarking on a visit to Chalon. We’ll visit the historic Cathedrale Saint Vincent, a storied church in the heart of town with beautiful stained glass windows. From there, we’ll explore the Musée Denon. This museum is owned by a former curator from the Louvre, and numerous portraits and sculptures call this hidden gem home. We’ll a stop at a local café for lunch near the river. Guests will return to the Grand Victoria for a late afternoon cruise. Relax with sundowners and dinner aboard.

    Tournus - Mâcon

    Relax aboard for a delightful morning cruise along the Saône River following breakfast. We will then tour the Abbey de Cluny, once counted amongst the largest churches in the world, followed by a visit to Chevrerie la Trufiere, a local goat cheese farm. We return in time for our signature sundowners aboard. Kick off your shoes and flick through a diverse selection of vinyl records from then and now. Turn up the volume of your favorite records for us all to enjoy, while the chef adds the final touches to dinner.

    Mâcon - Montmerle

    After a morning of cruising, we will enjoy lunch on board before debarking for a tour of the vineyards at Pouilly-Fuissé. A private wine tasting will follow the tour. After, we will go to the Roche de Solutré, an interesting geographical phenomena overlooking the Saône. A historic site dating to the ancient prehistory, Roche later attracted media attention for the annual climbs made by a former French president. Follow in his footsteps to a memorable view overlooking southern Burgundy. Return to the Grand Victoria for sundowners and dinner aboard.

    Montmerle - Lyon

    Enjoy an early breakfast before you spend the morning exploring the magnificent city of Lyon, France’s second largest city and gastronomic capital. Edward will take you to tour the majestic Basilique de Fourviere that dominates the skyline of the west banks of the Saône, and see the ruins of ancient Roman amphitheaters. We will enjoy lunch at one of Lyon’s many cafés
    before exploring the magnificent shopping districts that rival Paris in their offerings. You’ll be treated to a fantastic dinner cruise for our final evening together.

    The official start of cruising! We will cast off early, so guests are welcome to sit on the deck and enjoy breakfast outside in the beautiful Burgundian air, or venture off onto the towpath for a nice walk or bike ride along the canal. After a nice lunch onboard, Edward will take you on your first excursion to the magnificent cellars of Patriarche. Patriarche is a family run business in the heart of Southern Burgundy’s prestigious vineyards. You’ll visit the most extensive wine vaults in Burgundy: 5 kilometers of vaults with 230 years of history. The aged wine cellars — dating back to the thirteenth century — are a magical and timeless marriage of wine and culture. After you’ve had the opportunity to sample their wines, we return to the Grand Victoria for sundowners on deck, and a dinner of gourmet delight onboard. After dinner, if you’re feeling adventurous, we’ll journey into Dijon for a tour of the beautiful capital of Burgundy by night.

    Longecourt-en-Plaine - St. Jean de Losne

    Tuesday is the traditional Market Day in Dijon! Enjoy a light breakfast of coffee, fresh croissants, and eggs before Edward guides you into the city for a cultural excursion like no other! The walking tour will start you in the Place Darcy et Arc Guillaume, walk the cobblestoned streets to visit the vibrant Le Halles cover market designed by Gustav Eiffel in the 19th century. One of France’s largest and most well known markets comes to life with a selection of meats, cheeses, and of course fruits and vegetables. Edward will then take you to a café near the market to enjoy a beverage and rest your feet before taking you to the Eglise de Notre-Dame and the Ducal Palace, pointing out other points of interest throughout the historic part of Dijon’s center. You will stroll back to Place Francois Rude with its carousal surrounded by cafes where tables spill out onto the pedestrianized square, this is a lively place named after the Dijon-born sculptor of “La Marseilleise” which graces the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. Here you’ll enjoy the French culture of eating lunch with the locals. After enjoying a wonderful selection of bistro food, feel free to explore the city on your own, shop for souvenirs, and delight in the magnificent culture of the city before returning to the Grand Victoria for an afternoon cruise. Relax on deck with a drink, or hit the towpath by bicycle before another indulging in a spectacular gourmet dinner aboard paired with local Premier Cru wines.

    The morning starts with cruising the scenic river and enjoying the tranquil countryside of Southern Burgundy. Relax after breakfast before Edward’s guided excursion to a small private vineyard where you’ll get to meet the owners, as they take you for a tour through their vineyard and winery followed by a private wine tasting and a picnic lunch in the vineyard (weather permitting) After lunch we’ll return to the Grand Victoria, freshen up, and get ready for our vinyl evening! While dinner is prepared, browse our selection of vinyl records, and crank up the volume to add a ambiance to your gourmet meal.

    Verdun - Chalon-sur-Saône

    We’ll start the morning with a nice breakfast before embarking on another one of Edward’s guided tours. Today, we’ll tour the financial center of Burgundy’s wine industry, Beaune. The tour of Beaune will start at the beautiful Musee de l’Hôtel-Dieu, a medieval hospital founded in 1443 and a fine example of French architecture. The hospital was originally founded for the poor and received patients until the 1970s. After the tour, Edward will take you to lunch at a nearby bistro, where you can relax and enjoy local fare. You’ll then visit a wonderful local fromagerie. There will be plenty of time to meander the shopping district and enjoy the enchanting café in the town square, before returning to the Grand Victoria. The late afternoon will be perfect for a relaxing cruise and drinks before another amazing gourmet dinner onboard.
